Larry D. Schweizer, 70, of Rockport, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Signature Health Care in Newburgh.
Larry was born on October 16, 1949 to the late Orel Paul Schweizer and Mary Eileen (Lamar) Schweizer.
He was a sports announcer for many local high school teams, an on air personality (Big Larry) at WBNL for 40+ years, and an announcer for many drag races including Chandler for 30+ years. Larry was also an EMT for Spencer County EMS.
Larry is survived by his children, Kevin Schweizer and his wife, Jaime, of Rockport and Keith Schweizer and his wife, Kim, of Delphos, OH; grandchildren, Noah Schweizer and Lynnsie Schweizer; siblings, Marilyn Drewlinger and her husband, Wayne, of Newburgh, and Ruth Ann Trolinger and her husband, Stan, of Owensboro, KY.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Carl Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Grandview.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m.. Tuesday, March 17, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
