Larry Leamon Eaton Sr., 79, of Rockport, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Heartford House in Owensboro, Kentucky surrounded by family.
Larry was born in Owensboro, Kentucky March 29, 1946, to Leamon and Margaret (Rickard) Eaton.
Larry was a member of Lincoln Hills Baptist Church in Rockport and also a previous member of Island Baptist Church of Island, Kentucky. Larry served in the Army National Guard, studied at Western Kentucky University and Kentucky Wesleyan University, before going to work for ALCOA, retiring after 41 years of service.
Larry enjoyed farming, loved his John Deere tractors and helping people in the fields. Larry had his pilot’s license and loved to fly twin and four-seat planes. When not in the sky, he enjoyed hitting the road on his Harley Davidson motorcycle and went to Bike Week for over forty plus years. Larry was an avid NASCAR fan and over the years attended many races. In his later years, one of his greatest joys was spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Eaton; daughter, Jill Renee Vuksinic (John); sons, Larry Eaton Jr. (Amanda) and Jonathan Eaton (Melissa); grandchildren, Seth Vuksinic (Chelsea), Jayden Lynn Eaton, Samantha Renee Eaton and Kane Eaton; great-grandchild, Evelyn Vuksinic; and sister, Elaine Wright (David), with many other nieces, nephews and extended family.
Services were 2 p.m. Sunday May 4, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Paul Gatewood officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockport.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Hills Baptist Church, Spencer County EMS, or Spencer County Council on Aging.
