Leroy VanWinkle, 98, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, at Oakwood Health Campus.
He was born on April 5, 1923, to the late Samuel and Anna (Witte) VanWinkle. He married the love of his life, Fronie Viola VanHoosier on September 30, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in New Boston.
He retired from Dolly Madison in 1985 and was a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1945.
Survivors include his wife, Fronie of Tell City; children, Stephen (Debra) VanWinkle of St. Meinrad, Charlotte (Charley) Mundel of Tell City, and Linda (Kirt) Muth of Bristow; grandchildren, Michelle LeClere, Melissa (Scott) Collins, Shawn (Ann) LeClere, Amy (Dean) VanWinkle, Vincent (Erin) VanWinkle, Sara (Zach) Zuelly, Andrew Muth and Aidan Muth; great-grandchildren, Emma and Luke LeClere, Avery and Chloe VanHoosier, Tyler Butler and Madison and Caleb VanWinkle.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward VanWinkle, Mabel Reutman, Elsie Kirk and a granddaughter, Beth Ann VanWinkle.
Services were held Saturday, June 5, at Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home with Bro. Al Madden officiating. Burial followed in Bristow City Cemetery.
