Lila J. Daniel, 83, of Rockport, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Rockport.
Lila was born in Clay County, West Virginia, to Alva and Pansey (Moore) Brown.
Lila was a homemaker and had worked at South Spencer High School, Spencer County Co-Op Credit Union, and Old Rockport Incorporated which was instrumental in the restoration of Lincoln Pioneer Village. She was the first lady elected on the Rockport City Council and had attended Washington Avenue and later Trinity United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack A. Daniel and a son, Michael Lynn Daniel.
Lila is survived by her children, Allen Daniel and his wife, Eleanor of Owensboro, KY, Larry W. Daniel of Rockport, Mary Daniel of Rockport, and Joanna Metcalf and her husband, Lyle of Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Linsey Hermann, Alexander Daniel-Rice and Claire Metcalf; great-grandchildren, Brady Dych and Madison Dych; siblings and extended family and friends.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Richland.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the funeral home.
