The Lincoln Amphitheatre’s third Amp Unplugged event of 2020 will feature Paul McDonald, a top 10 finalist in the tenth season of the hit TV show American Idol, on Sunday, July 26, at 5 p.m. CT. All tickets for Amp Unplugged performances are only $9.95 and are on sale now at www.LincolnAmphitheatre.com. All seating is general admission with social distancing guidelines in place.
The Amp Unplugged series is presented by Kyana Woodstock with additional performances announced as the summer progresses. A very limited amount of tickets are still available for the Sunday, June 28, Amp Unplugged summer debut featuring Chris Shaffer of The Why Store, as well as the Sunday, July 12, performance by roots/Americana artist Adam Hood. Tickets and information for all three of these intimate, socially-distanced Amp Unplugged performances can be found at www.LincolnAmphitheatre.com.
“The Amp Unplugged series is an intimate, acoustic-oriented group of performances that will have a limited number of seats/tickets spread out across our vast 1,500 capacity seating area to allow for plentiful social distancing opportunities,” said Marc Steczyk, Lincoln Amphitheatre’s director. “We aim to use to our advantage the unique qualities of being an outdoor, fully-covered space with a large seating area in combination with CDC recommendations regarding disinfectant usage, allowable gathering sizes, and the use of PPE in appropriate places and by appropriate personnel to provide a safe space for our staff, volunteers, artists, and our patrons.”
McDonald is a creative force that has been touring nonstop since the release of his debut solo album, Modern Hearts. Most recently, McDonald toured in 2019 with the Grammy-nominated trio Hanson.
A top 10 finalist in the tenth season of the hit TV show American Idol, McDonald’s broadly resonant musicality has garnered him millions of Spotify streams and international acclaim and coverage from the likes of Rolling Stone magazine, Billboard magazine, MTV, and has enabled him to tour the world and share the stage with a diverse array of classic and current icons. Select performance highlights include sharing the stage with artists such as Stevie Wonder, John Mayer, Crosby, Stills and Nash, The Revivalists, Zac Brown, Father John Misty, Emmylou Harris, and appearances at such iconic festivals such as Bonnaroo and SXSW. He has appeared on nationally-televised programs Good Morning America, The Today Show, NBC’s Parenthood, and The Tonight Show.
