Linda Ruth (Weatherholt) Turner, 76, of Rockport, passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
Linda was born in Spencer County on November 14, 1943 to the late Marie (Minnett) and James Weatherholt.
She was a homemaker for most of her life and an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, aunt but most of all a loving and devoted wife. She was a sassy and spunky woman who was full of life. She loved to go dancing with her husband, her lifelong dance partner. Linda’s all time favorite singer was Conway Twitty.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Turner; siblings, EK Weatherholt, Nina Foertsch, Jess Weatherholt, Jo Weatherholt, and half-brothers, Bobby and Don Hurst.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, RC (Robert) Turner of Rockport; children, Michael Turner and his wife, Gwynn of Rockport, Ron Turner of Rockport, Dean Turner of Cross Lanes, WV and Tammie Roth and her husband, Rick of Richland; grandchildren, Amanda Day (John), Alicia Captain, Andrew Turner (Sarah), Ashley Batchelor (Justin), Craig Turner (Carolyn), Nick Turner (Jamie), Mandy Bretz (Jon), Tara Benton (Matt), Josh Turner, Morgan Higdon, Adam Roth, MaQuade Turner and Brooklyn Turner; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty Nix (Billy), Jimmy Weatherholt (Mary Jo), Tommy Weatherholt (Nancy), Walter Weatherholt, Paul Weatherholt, Diane Vaughn; sister-in-law, Mary Helen Smith (Bruce); many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.
A celebration of life was held at Rockport Church of the Nazarene in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, January 25, with Pastor Mark Short officiating.
