Marcene Louise Meyer, 90, of Chrisney, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020, at Linda E. White Hospice of Evansville.
Marcene was born on June 17, 1929, in Beason, Illinois to the late Edwin and Katherine (McCoy) Roos.
She was a graduate of Chrisney High School and an active member of St. Martin Catholic Church serving in many capacities. Marcene retired from General Electric, loved being a homemaker, especially being involved with her grandchildren’s activities. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Claude Jacob Roos, Beverly Beckner, and Joy Huebschman.
Marcene is survived by her husband of nearly 72 years, Jim Meyer of Chrisney; son David Meyer and his wife, Maureen of Evansville; grandchildren, Christopher David Meyer and his wife, Katherine and Leslie Michelle Meyer; great-grandchildren, Callan and Zachary Meyer; and one brother, Duane Edward Roos of Lamar.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, at St. Martin Catholic Cemetery in Chrisney, with Father Ron Kreilein officiating.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 8, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home Youngblood Chapel at 36 E. Market St. Chrisney. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
