Marissa Lynn Cook, 30, of Rockport, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, from complications of a car accident.
Marissa was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on June 24, 1992, to Robert Wayne Cook and Bobbi (Alvey) Skimmerhorn.
Marissa was a very compassionate and loving person. She was a friend to everyone she met. She was an outgoing person and lived life to the fullest. She loved hanging out with her friends, spending time with her family, and most of all, spending quality time with her son, Andrew.
Marissa is survived by her parents, John and Bobbi Skimmerhorn; her son, Andrew Bastain; her sisters, Letisha Cook and Whitney Skimmerhorn (Antonio); her brother, James Skimmerhorn (Mary); her grandparents, Judy Alford and Joe Texas; her aunts, Kristi Brown (Marty) and Sherry Riley (Gary); her uncles, Mike Cook, Clyde Skimmerhorn (Teresa), Travis Skimmerhorn ( Raven) and Matthew Skimmerhorn; her nieces, Lilly, Jayla and Janevah Skimmerhorn; and her nephew, Kason Booher.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her, sister, Miranda Dawn Cook; her niece, Ava Dawn Cook; her grandparents, Robert and Janet Alvey, Robert and Barbara Cook and Janice Cook.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Robert Young officiating. Burial will follow at Alexander Cemetery in Patronville.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday, August 26, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
