Martha E. (Loper) Carver, 97, of Rockport, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at her home.
Martha was born in Rockport on December 7, 1924, to the late Herbert and Stacey (Barker) Loper.
She had retired from General Electric. She enjoyed shopping, baking, traveling, going to the casinos, lottery tickets, and playing bingo, but most of all, she loved her family.
Martha was a former member of Eureka Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Daughter of the Nile.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Bowman; her grandchildren, Larry Bowman and his wife, Cindy, Gary Bowman and his wife, Lori, and Darian Bowman and his wife, April; her great-grandchildren, Amanda Martin, Britni Haycox, Brad Bowman and Jewel Sylvester; seven great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandson; her sister-in-law, Dora McDaniels; her brother-in-law, Harold Brown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Stanley Carver, who passed away in 2004; her brothers, James Loper, Riley Loper, and Lawrence Loper; and her sisters, Elsie Motteler and Alice McClure.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 2, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Tim Coomer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is 4 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 1, and from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
