Mary Jane Ambrose, 77, formerly of Rockport, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Brickyard Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mary Jane was born in Perry County on December 26, 1946, to the late Marion and Sophrona Rowley.
Mary Jane was an EMS volunteer for Spencer County and had been a dispatcher for Spencer County Sheriff’s Department. She retired from Baker’s Rest Haven in Boonville where she worked in the Social Services department.
In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Ambrose, Sr.; her daughter, Angela Hall; and her brother, Micheal Rowley.
Mary Jane is survived by her five children, Jennifer Sheffer, James K. “Kenny” Ambrose, Jr. (Shannon), Katrina Chord (Bill), Diana Stephens (Perry), Tobin Ambrose; son-in-law, Paul Hall; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and Jon Rowley. Mary Jane was loved and will be missed by many.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport has been entrusted with care.
