Maxine Barrett, 90, died on April 11, 2020, at her home in New Palestine.
She was born December 10, 1929, in Lincoln City, to James and Prudence Rout. She married James (Jim) Barrett on March 13, 1948.
She graduated from Dale High School. She and her husband raised five children and moved several times associated with his work for the Southern Railway (now Norfolk Southern Railway), including Kentucky, Illinois, Alabama and Indiana. Upon Jim’s retirement in 1987, they moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where they resided until returning to Indiana in 2002. She will be missed by all of those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Storm (Jim) of Dunedin, FL, Michael (Mike) Barrett (Jeanie) of Colleyville, TX, Bonnie Frederick of New Palestine, and Bruce Barrett (Kristy) of Birmingham, MI; her sister, Shirley Glenn of Dale; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and her daughter, Jolaine (Jodie) Barrett.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the family will be holding a private service at a later date.
