Patriots beat heat, sweat out win over Rangers – 8.22.23

The ‘hot’ topic of conversation lately has been the weather.

It’s been extremely warm.

In fact, it was so hot and humid that the Heritage Hills boys soccer team’s match with rival Forest Park was moved back an hour-and-a-half for safety reasons.

In the end, however, the Patriots were able to beat the heat, sweating out a 2-1 victory over the host Rangers last Tuesday night in Bretzville.

Ironically, Heritage Hills coach Joe Asbury felt like his squad dealt with the heat pretty well. “It’s not October weather or even late September weather but it is what it is,” explained the Patriot boss.
