Paul “Bud” Edwin Spiehler, 83, of Tell City, passed away on June 13, 2024, at Oakwood Health Campus.

He was born on November 25, 1940, the son of Shirley and Gladys (Davis) Spiehler.

Born and raised in Spencer County, Bud joined the United States Army after high school. He was united in marriage to Mary Kay Masterson on December 19, 1971, and together they shared 52 wonderful years. Bud worked for General Electric and later owned his own business for more than 20 years, S&S Mobile Homes. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR races, and playing poker.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay Spiehler of Tell City; his children, Steven Southwood (Cheryl) of Evanston and Jeff Hutchison (Janet) of Grandview; sisters, Janice Pierce of Owensboro and Shirley Ann Shelton of Eastview, KY; brother-in-law, Roy Joe Masterson (Trudie) of TX; along with his granddaughters, Hayleigh Southwood Phillips (Ezra) and Ally Southwood (Jonas Phillips); grandson, Ryan Hutchison (Brooke); great grandchildren, Aria, Waylon and Ella Phillips and Camden Hutchison; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend who continued weekly Friday visits at Oakwood, Tom Shore.

In addition to his parents Bud was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Miller (Mendel Miller) and his sister-in-law, Peggy Howe, who was more like a sister to him.

There will be a private graveside service at a later date.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Oakwood. They took such wonderful care of Bud and his family from the beginning of his stay to the final moments. Also, a special thank you to Heart-to-Heart Hospice for making buds final days on this earth as pain free and peaceful as possible.
