Pauline Englert, 91, of Ferdinand, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.
She was born in Troy, to Frank and Josephine (Gudorf) Kleiser, on May 14, 1930.
She married Hilliard Englert on August 21, 1948, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2015.
Pauline was a member of Christ the King Parish, St. Ferdinand Church. She was a past member of the Ferdinand Fire Department Auxiliary. She worked at the Jasper Glove Factory for 16 years before working at Möbel in Ferdinand until her retirement. She was a wonderful cook and passed several of her recipes down to her daughters-in-law, granddaughters, and great-granddaughters.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, doing cross-stitch, going for drives, and was very proud when visitors marveled at the colorful and detailed designs created from her coloring hobby.
Pauline is survived by two sons, Dennis (Becky) Englert of Ferdinand and Tom (Cheryl) Englert of Jasper; two sisters, Shirley Bartley of Jasper and Betty Overstreet of Oklahoma; three brothers, Earl (Carmen) Kleiser of Virginia, Donald (Jane) Kleiser and Frank (Bev) Kleiser, all of Jasper; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilliard; three sisters, Norma Kleiser, Mary Ann Prance and Lucille Schuetter; and three brothers, Leroy, Harold and Alfred Kleiser.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 19, at 10 a.m. EDT in St. Ferdinand Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of services.
