Peter “Pete” James Murphy, III, 58, of Rockport, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by loving family on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
Pete was born in Evansville, on June 30, 1964, to the late Peter and Stella (Christmas) Murphy.
Pete was raised for part of his life in Cynthiana. He enjoyed spending his days outside gardening with his grandchildren, listening to music, and talking with people. He was a fork truck driver at Corwood for many years before falling ill. Pete left a lasting impression on those who have had the opportunity to know him.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Murphy, and several uncles.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Staats) Murphy; son, Jeremy Staats; daughter, Jenny Wade; granddaughters, Morgan Wade and Zoe Wade; grandson, Jonah Wade; brothers, Daniel Murphy and his wife, Cindy; Michael Murphy, and Patrick Murphy; several nieces and nephews.
Services are 12 p.m. Wednesday, November 23, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Jason Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Cynthiana.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
