It may not have quite resembled the movies Rocky or Rocky II.
But the South Spencer girls basketball team’s hardwood battle with highly touted Forest Park was the first of what could be two heavyweight contests.
And in the first meeting, it was the Lady Rebels who were hit with an early knockout punch by the Rangers.
With a conference championship still at stake, South Spencer was wobbled by an early haymaker and eventually dropped a 51-39 decision to Class 2A, No. 4 ranked Forest Park last Tuesday night at Buechler Arena in Ferdinand.
