Ray Jay Matheis, 65, of Dale, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at his home.
Ray Jay was born in Huntingburg on January 16, 1958, to James Toby and LaVon (Spencer) Case.
Ray Jay had served in the United States Army and had worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He was a member of the Santa Claus American Legion and loved riding his Harley Davidson.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Toby.
Ray Jay is survived by his mother, LaVon Case, of Gentryville; his wife, Tammie Matheis, of Dale; his children, Toby Farris and his wife, Tish, of Louisville, KY, Jeremy Matheis and his wife, Holly, of Dale and Jonathan Matheis and his wife, Amanda, of Marshall, IL; his grandchildren, T.J., Arlene, Ryan, Odin, Trystan, Joseph, Keaton, Kaydence, Harmony, and Kinsley; five great-grandchildren; and his sister, Michelle Stevens, of Huntingburg.
Services are 6 p.m. Monday, March 6, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport.
Visitation is 2 until 6 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
