Rebecca “Becky” (Becher) Price, 85, of Chrisney, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Scenic Hills at the Monastery in Ferdinand.

Becky was born on February 6, 1937, in St. Meinrad, to the late Herbert and Francis (Meyer) Becher.

After graduating from Ferdinand High School in 1955, she attended St. Mary’s Nursing School in Evansville, graduating as a registered nurse in 1957. Becky worked as a nurse for over 50 years. She worked in the maternity wards at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville and Memorial Hospital in Jasper. She was the Director of Nursing for Golden Circle Nursing Center in Dale, had worked for Dr. Monar in Rockport, and finished her career as the county health nurse for the Spencer County Health Department.

Becky married Marlan Price in 1961, beginning a 52 year marriage that ended in 2013 with Marlan’s passing.

Becky’s family was always her priority. As a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she went on vacations, nursed injuries and illnesses, and attended countless sporting events, recitals, fund raisers and family parties.

Throughout her life, Becky enjoyed being outside. She could always be seen in the yard tending to her flowers. One of her great joys in life was traveling with Marlan and often with their friends. Although they traveled to all but two states, their favorite destination was Florida.

In addition to her parents and husband, Becky was preceded in death by her brothers, Lee Becher, Frank Becher, Bill Becher and Donald Becher; and her sister, Virlee McMahon.

She is survived by her daughter, Carmen Knies and her husband, Drew; her son, Danny Price and his wife, Lynn; her grandchildren, Ted Knies, Josh Knies, Matt Price and his wife, Morgan and Adam Price; her great-grandsons, Cooper Price and Tucker Price; and her sisters, Germaine Graman, Judy Doyle and Nancy Lasher.
