Ricky Allen Mills Sr., 64, of Newtonville, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at his home surrounded by family.

Rick was born in Tell City on August 3, 1956, to Allen Mills and Edith (Graham) Filbert.

Rick retired as an operator and mechanic from Local 181. He was baptized and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and attended Little Pigeon Baptist Church. Rick had coached baseball for many years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was president of the Erie Canal Beagle Club and member of the Southern Indiana Horseman’s Club.

He was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Allen Mills, Jr. and his father, Allen Mills.

Rick is survived by his wife, Sherry Mills of Newtonville; children, Jeremy Rice and his wife, Amy of Newtonville, Bryan Mills and his wife, Kristi of Lynnville, Jessica Wittman and her husband, Luke of Evanston, Jeremy Mills and his wife, Dezaray of Santa Claus, Davian, Dylan, and Dani Lynn Weatherholt of Newtonville; his mother, Edith Filbert; sisters, Vicky Mabrey and her husband, Dan and Kelly Mudd; grandchildren, Colton, Zach, Lexi, Zac, Zeke, Destyne, Ashlee, Madison, Ethan, Kameron, Jazmyn, Brooklyn and Drew; and great-granddaughter, Hazel.

Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Bob Duley officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Grandview.

Friends may call from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, and from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
