Rita Faye (Alvey) Texas, 66, of Rockport, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
Rita was born in Rockport on June 6, 1956, to the late Robert and Eunice (Grant) Alvey.
In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her son, Jerry McMahan; grandchildren, Devontae Alvey, Terrance Cable and Karah Willison; siblings, Robert (Bob) Alvey, Charles (Charlie) Alvey, Richard (Richey) Alvey, Paul Alvey, Betty Miller, Shirley Hoosier, and Mary Alvey.
Rita is survived by her husband, James A. Texas; her children, Vernon Alvey, Gladys Alvey, Terra McMahan, Diana Willison, Amy Fahey, Nancy Russelberg, Richard Texas, George Texas, James Texas, Linda Clark, and Anna Neely; her sisters, Thelma Campbell, and Dorothy Kellems; 30 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Walter Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Visitation is from 12 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
