Ronald Lee Barnes, 82, of Rockport, passed away peacefully at his home, January 18, 2024.
Ronald was born April 10,1941 to Mose Barnes and Dortha (Scheloskey) Barnes.
Ronald was a graduate of F J Reitz High School, and then went into the work force where he spent 37 years working at the Culley Generating Plant as an equipment operator. Ronald also served his home state of Indiana as a member of the Indiana National Guard.
Ronald had a love for hunting Indian relics in his spare time and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and I.U. basketball.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, son Sean Micheal Barnes, and sister Jan Stankovitch.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Pat Barnes of Rockport; children, Chad (Shirley) Barnes, Evansville, Todd (Sonia) Barnes, Leesburg, VA and Aaron Barnes, Arlington, TX; grandchildren, Olivia Barnes, Carmel, Adam Barnes, Evansville, Annica Barnes and Marlena Barnes, Arlington, TX.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 21, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Services will be Monday, January 22, at 10 a.m., at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Rockport, with Father Ron Kreilein officiating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville.
