Robert L. Carter, 89, of Newburgh, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.
Robert was born on June 19, 1932.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Bessie Carter; his first wife, Linda Carter; and his second wife, Betty Cooper Carter.
Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served in the Korean War and was awarded the Service Ribbon W/1, Bronze Campaign Star, United Nations Service Medal, United Defense Service Medal, and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.
Robert was also proud to be a Deacon of his church and at one time, a Boy Scout leader.
He is survived by his step-children, Doris Cooper, Karen Wathen, Carollyn Sue Schwoeppe (David), Ricky Cooper and Monica Lambert; 13 grandkids; and several great-grandkids.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 11, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Richland.
Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport has been entrusted with care.
