Robert P. “Bob” Ruark, 90, of Rockport, passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
He was born May 5, 1931, in Hatfield to Robert D. and Wilma A. (Polk) Ruark.
He graduated from Luce Township High School in 1949. Bob was a member of Bakers Creek Baptist Church in Eureka. He retired as a unit supervisor in the aluminum services department at Alcoa in 1991 after 29 years. He was a 33rd degree 50-plus year Master Mason, as well as a member of both the Eureka Masonic Lodge and the Rockport Masonic Lodge. Bob was an avid IU basketball fan.
Surviving are his son, Terry Ruark (Maralee) of Rockport; brother in-law, Lloyd Ferguson of Davenport, FL; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Daniels (Bryan) of Westfield, Meredith Leslie (Craig) of Rockport, and Matthew Ruark of Indianapolis; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 66 years, Patsy “Pat” (Cron) Ruark; son, Larry Ruark; sister, Wilma Jean Ferguson; and daughter in-law, Debbie (Pate) Ruark.
Graveside services for Robert P. “Bob” Ruark will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, October 25, at James Parker Cemetery in Hatfield, with Pastor Carl Jones officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bakers Creek Baptist Church at 718 Main Street, Rockport, IN 47635.
