Mayor Cathy Kirkpatrick and members of the Common Council invite everyone to a Public Hearing scheduled for the top of the council’s August 10 Common Council meeting, starting at 5 p.m.
Why?
The council is applying for a Downtown Revitalization Grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA), and the more participation and enthusiasm from the com- munity, the better. In addition to attending the meeting, or in lieu of, letters sent or given to Mayor Cathy Kirkpatrick would be very welcome. Some of the questions the letters can address include:
• If you live or work in Rockport, what drew you here?
• What elements do you like about downtown Rockport?
• Do you see any problems in downtown Rockport the City should work to address? (i.e. buildings, sidewalks, lighting, etc.).
Any additional concerns about the downtown area and support for the grant would be welcome.
