Roger Kent Daniel, 79, of Rockport, passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
Roger was born in Owensboro, Kentucky on January 15, 1945, to Ithiel and Opal (Clein) Daniel.
Roger had worked at Barmet Aluminum and enjoyed fishing and watching I.U. Men’s Basketball. He was a follower of the Lord and blessed many congregations over the years.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Daniel; his brothers, Joe Bill Daniel, Jack Daniel, Jerry Daniel and Tommy Daniel; and his sisters, Doris Jean Stroup, Roma June Bryant and Brenda Sue Emmerson.
He is survived by his children, Meredith Dunn and her husband, Alan, of Waverly, KY and Derek Daniel and his wife, April, of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Kelsey Gidcumb and her husband, Jacob, Noah Daniel and Aubrey Daniel; his great-grandchildren, Judah Gidcumb and Kaison Gidcumb; and his sister, Patricia Shields.
Services are 2 p.m. Monday, October 7, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Derek Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Hackleman Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
