Sgt. Robert McGowen I.S.P. (Retired) 92, of Santa Claus, died on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Scenic Hills at the Monastery.
Robert was born June 2, 1929 in Bremen, to Charles and Hilda (Thompson) McGowen. He married Arvilla Simmons on April 16, 1949. He was a member of the Santa Claus United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling and family time.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arvilla, and a daughter Jenny Walker.
He is survived by a son, Richard McGowen, and daughters Kathy Hinkle and Pamela Neighbors; three grandchildren, Jeremiah and Koleena Hinkle and Shannon Englert, as well as four great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Saturday July 3, from 3 – 4 p.m. CDT at Santa Claus United Methodist Church.
Funeral Services are planned for Saturday July 3, at 4 p.m. CDT at Santa Claus United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the Santa Claus United Methodist Church Cemetery.
