Right angle collision
Samuel Mehringer, 61, of Loogootee, was westbound on CR 1000 N near Chrisney and attempting to cross US 231 when, he later told police, he failed to see a 2017 Toyota Camry in the lane of travel and struck the car’s driver’s side. The driver of the Camry, 37-year-old Alicia Stewart of Richmond, KY, had to be extricated from her car by fire personnel before being transported to Owensboro Regional Health by Spencer County EMS after complaining of pain in her left side and multiple small abrasions on her arm and hands. Mehringer was not injured. Total damages in the April 10, 10:56 a.m. collision were estimated between $10,000-25,000.
