Driver injured in collision
Mary Lou Nix, 53, of Cloverport, KY, was eastbound on SR 66 near Richland when a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer driven by 19-year-old Jasmine Alvey of Richland pulled into her path, causing Nix’s 2011 Buick Regal to strike the Trailblazer. Alvey’s vehicle then rolled over, knocking down a state-owned “One Way” sign on the east side of the roadway. Both vehicles then continued off the roadway and down an embankment. Nix was initially trapped in her car but was cut loose of her seatbelt and freed, before being transported to the hospital by EMS. Alvey was not injured. Neither driver was cited and both submitted to preliminary breath tests, which came back negative for both drivers. Total damages in the December 8, 9:56 p.m. collision were estimated between $5,000-10,000.
Strikes grain truck
Benjamin Duttlinger, 44, of Gentryville, was making a right-hand turn into the driveway at 164993 N SR 62 when the passenger’s side of the 1997 Mack grain truck he was driving was struck by a 2007 Ford Ranger driven by 45-year-old Carrie Lehman of Boonville. Lehman advised she had attempted to stop but her brakes stopped working, causing her to strike Duttlinger’s vehicle. Neither driver was injured in the December 7, 1:42 p.m. accident. Total damages were estimated between $1,000-2,500.
Parking lot pole struck at Denny’s
Kevin Gagnon, 57, of Cambridge, MN, was attempting to turn left in the parking lot at Denny’s restaurant in Dale when he struck a yellow parking lot pole and became stuck. Both the pole and the trailer attached to the 2015 Volvo semi Gagnon was driving were damaged in the December 14, 11:51 a.m. accident. Gagnon was not injured.
Sideswipe
Samantha Hudspeth, 27, of Centertown, KY, was westbound on SR 66 near Richland when, she allegedly told police, she took her eyes off the road for a split second and crossed the centerline, at which point she struck the trailer of an eastbound 2003 GM Sierra driven by 48-year-old Richie Henderson of Morgantown, KY. Neither driver was injured in the December 12, 12:06 p.m. collision. Total damages were estimated between $5,000-10,000.
