Ran off road and trapped in vehicle

Audra L. Turner, 43, of Boonville was southbound on CR 1000W when she drove her 2016 Polaris too close to the edge of the roadway, sending it in the ditch and rolling. Turner was trapped inside but her male passenger was able to extricate himself. Luce Fire Territory assisted in extricating Turner from the vehicle and Spencer County EMS transported her for medical treatment for a shoulder/upper arm dislocation or fracture. Estimated damages in the July 30, 6:51 p.m. accident were between $1,000-$2,500. 

Strikes pole

Eva P. Weber, 18, of Freeburg, IL was eastbound on SR 70 near the SR 66 Y intersection. As she approached the intersection, she attempted to drive her 2012 Volkswagon Passat through the one way segment of the intersection. She then made a sudden turn into the median, driving through to SR 66 and coming to rest a little off the roadway. No injuries were reported during the July 30, 7:43 p.m. mishap and estimated damage was between $2,500-$5,000. 

Crossed center line leads to multiple injuries

Joseph R. Gillespie, 58, of Owensboro, KY was southbound in the southbound lane of SR 161 near More Drive while Rachel J. Boultinghouse, 65, of Rockport was southbound in the northbound lane. According to the report, Gillespie’s 2019 Dodge Journey crossed into the northbound lane, striking Boultinghouse’s 2015 Dodge Caravan, causing the Caravan to spin upon impact then stop facing south. Gillespie complained of neck, chest and hip pain while Boultinghouse complained of chest, back and abdominal pain. She also suffered a visible right ankle fracture and a severed fingertip. Both drivers were transported by Spencer County EMS for medical attention. Both vehicles were declared total losses ($10,000-$25,000) in the July 31, 3:02 p.m. incident.

Strikes telephone pole

James P. Baldwin, 79, of Owensboro KY was westbound on SR 66W near CR 650W when a deer entered the roadway, Baldwin’s 2003 Nissan Frontier veered towards the eastbound side of the ditch near the roadway, struck a telephone pole and spun until coming to rest in the opposite direction. Another motorist was able to assist Baldwin, who was reportedly trapped inside the vehicle. No injuries were reported in the August 1 incident and estimated damage was between $10,000-$25,000.
