Ran off road

Joseph Kell, 30, of Evansville, was westbound on I-64 near Dale when, he later told officers, he hit a patch of water on the roadway and hydroplaned, causing his 2015 Acura ILX to spin out of control and strike a guardrail. Kell was not injured in the May 18, 7:29 a.m. accident, but damages were estimated between $2,500-5,000.

Ran off road

Kara Batie, 25, of Dale, was eastbound on SR 70 near Grandview when, she and her passenger later told police, she took her eyes off the road to change the radio station and crossed the centerline. Her passenger then pulled the steering wheel to bring the 2015 Chevy Camaro back into the eastbound lane, at which point Batie over-corrected and lost control of the vehicle, traveling off the roadway and into a ditch. Neither Batie nor her passenger were injured in the May 16, 3:11 p.m. accident. Damages were estimated between $5,000-10,000.

Driver strikes steel ramp in roadway

Robert Mettle, 45, of Rockport, was eastbound on SR 66 when he came upon a large steel ramp in the roadway. Mettle attempted to avoid the object but struck it with both passenger tires, bending the rim and flattening both of the tires. Damages were estimated between $1,000-2,500.
