Stanley Jerome Schlachter, 74, of Grandview, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Stanley was born in Adyville on September 6, 1950, to Jerome Louis and Emma C. (Wagner) Schlachter.
He retired from Labor Union Local 561 after 19 years of service. Stanley enjoyed going to shooting matches, gardening, fishing, mowing the yard, hunting, and making wine. He loved his grandchildren dearly.
Stanley was a United States Marine Veteran, having served in Vietnam, and was a member of the Ferdinand and St. Meinrad American Legions.
In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by his grandchildren, Jerome Mullen, Olivia Montgomery, and Colin Schlachter.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Patricia McVay; his children, Michael Schlachter, Jennifer Mallory, Tracy Flores, Robert Schlachter, Shane Schlachter, Ronald Jackson, Patrick McVay, Gary Hires, Ashleigh Schlachter and Angela McVay; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Kenny Schlachter and Katherine Fleck.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport.
Visitation is 12 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
