The Grinch did not stop the Santa Claus Parade from coming

Neither snow, nor rain, nor Bumble’s bite kept the Town of Santa Claus from spreading Christmas cheer over the weekend. America’s Christmas Hometown was bustling with activity as shoppers filled local businesses and checked out the food trucks and other amenities available. Unfortunately, the off-and-on rain turned to a downpour as the Santa Claus Parade began its course past town hall.

The crowds had largely anticipated this, however, with many coming out dressed in rain coats or sporting umbrellas. Still more simply grinned and bore it when the drizzle intensified.

Costumed characters marching in the parade, unable to shelter themselves, soldiered through the weather with good cheer. Snow machines even managed to add some winter weather to the mix as the parade proceeded on its course.

Santa Claus himself had the foresight to reserve a closed-top car for his annual visit. A necessary precaution against illness this time of year, lest the world experience a “Year Without a Santa Claus” as almost happened in 1974 when the Miser Brothers made their musical debut.
