Thomas “Tommy” Gene Drace, 55, born March 28, 1969, was peacefully reunited with his father Billy Gene Drace Sr., and his mother Nancy Drace on April 3, 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Drace; his brothers, Billy Drace Jr. (wife, Sharon), and James Drace; his sisters, Marion Clouse (husband, Ronnie), and Dorothy Trogden (husband, Mark); his daughter, Samantha Edge (husband, Joe); his stepdaughters, Jessica Hathaway (husband, Maddox), and Lyndi Boyer; three grandsons; several nephews and nieces; and many friends.
Tommy’s profession was painting, but his passions were fishing, hunting, and playing pool. Not one day went by that he was not helping someone with something, whether it was mowing, painting, fixing a car, or giving a homeless person a ride. He was rich in friends, family, spirit and stubbornness! Tommy had the kindest heart masked by a gruff, redneck exterior. He never gave a fake smile or laugh. He was honest, even if it hurt.
He lived his life in pain. He fought to live each day to the fullest. He never gave up (stubbornness), or gave in. He worked hard, gave hard, and loved harder.
Tommy always said, “Nobody makes it outta life alive.” We may not make it out alive, but he will live on in our hearts forever.
There will be no services. Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport has been entrusted with care.
