Mt. Zion’s Apple Fest marked its 42nd year this weekend, packing the AEP Honey Creek Farm with visitors from near and far. Vendors turned much of the property into a shopping mall full of baked goods, crafts and other wares. Meanwhile, the main barn hosted quite the bake sale, with the centerpiece being “Indiana’s Largest Apple Pie.”
Bakers tended a massive oven both Saturday and Sunday to churn out two of these giant pies over the course of the weekend. Each of these measured a solid 24 feet long, with nine bushels of apples required per pie. Both were quickly whittled down over the course of the day as visitors each claimed their share.
Other attractions on the grounds included inflatable rides, meet and greets with Princesses Elsa and Anna (from Magical Memories out of Owensboro), hayrides, live music and plenty more. Naturally, there were tons of fresh apples of several varieties for sale throughout the event, not to mention homemade goods created from them.

Bags and Bags of apples were labeled with names of people who purchased the delicious fruit.
Hayrides were available for participants throughout the duration of the Apple Fest.
Children who were present got the opportunity for an up close meet-and-greet with Frozen characters Anna and Elsa.
Face painting and Inflatables were available to all children who were present at the Apple Fest.
