Viola Katherine Harter, 96, of Santa Claus, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022, at Scenic Hills Nursing Home in Ferdinand.
Katherine was born on October 24, 1925, to Merl and Dessa (Lightfoot) Osborn in Kokomo.
She graduated from Greentown High School in 1944 and was employed at Continental Steel for 42 years, retiring in 1986. Katherine took accounting courses at Indiana University at Kokomo. She was active in United Methodist Women and Business and Professional Women. Katherine lived in Kokomo in Howard County for 91 years before moving to be near her son and daughter-in-law in November 2016.
She is survived by her son Jeffrey Zook, (Joy); her sister Vivian Thompson (Jack); three nieces Cindy Parrott (Kerry), Jan Furgasun (Terry) and
Melinda Sexton (Bob); and six great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services were held at Boultinghouse Funeral Home-Youngblood Chapel in Chrisney, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.
