Virginia Mae Anderson, 97, of Rockport, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2020. at the Heartford House of Owensboro, Kentucky.
Virginia was born in Spencer County on July 29, 1922, to the late Roy and Mabel (Adams) Beckort.
She had been a cook at Rockport and South Spencer High School. She also baked wedding and other cakes for many years and retired from Sears. She enjoyed gardening and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Anderson; grandson, Drew Anderson; and great-grandson, Joshua Davis.
Virginia is survived by her children, Shirley Horn and her husband, Gordon and Terry Anderson and his wife, Sharon, all of Rockport; grandchildren, Tony Davis and his wife, Kathy, Tammi Anderson, Tim Davis and his wife, Roxann, Tina Wilkerson and her husband, Mike; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; and by siblings, Jim Beckort, Fred Beckort and Margaret Schraner.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport with Pastor Paul Gatewood officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday, March 23, and from 12 p.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
