Dorothy J. Howell, 88, of Newtonville, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Millers Merry Manor in Rockport.
She was born in Cannelton on February 4, 1932, to the late Strother and Nettie (Melburn) Lloyd.
Dorothy had worked for General Electric in both Tell City and Owensboro. She was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and played the piano and organ for 56 years.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Cathy Landingham and her husband, Ken, of Grayville, IL and Sandy Webb of Newtonville; grandchildren, Jeremy Eble, Jenny Shaw, Sherry Allen and Jawhasha Seaford; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carolyn Smith and her husband, Rex.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Lewis Howell; son-in-law, Charles Webb; and grandson, Jason Eble.
Funeral services for Dorothy Howell will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, at New Hope Baptist Church in Newtonville, with Pastor Michael Wilhite officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at New Hope Baptist Church.
