Harry Passmore III, 86, of Rockport, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Walnut Creek Care Center in Evansville.

Harry was born in Birmingham, Alabama on June 27, 1934, to the late Harry Passmore Jr. and Fanni Gene (Jordan) Passmore.

He was a lifelong member of the Old Avondale Boys and in the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow. Harry was a member of the Perdido Bay Optimist Club and served on the boards of the Property Owners Association of Spanish Cove and Lillian Recreation Park in Lillian, Alabama. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church throughout the years serving as lay leader, choir member and actor. Most recently, Harry was a member of Athens United Methodist Church in Athens, Illinois.

Harry retired as Engineering Manager, Chief Simulation Engineer from McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology where he was in Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, and his Masters of Science in Engineering at Princeton University.

In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Henley.

Harry is survived by his wife, Clarice Passmore; his children, Greg Passmore and his wife, Julie, of Augusta, Georgia, Alan Passmore of Tampa, Florida, Jeff Passmore and his wife, Michelle, of Troy, Missouri; his stepdaughters, Victoria Mertz of St. Louis, Missouri, and Amanda Withers and her husband, Andrew, of Rockport; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport.
