OWI charge after crash
A Grandview man was charged with operating while intoxicated after a crash that occurred on April 4 at 7:49 p.m. According to police, 59-year-old Daniel Foster was eastbound on CR 600 N in a 2001 Dodge Dakota when he drove across the center of the roadway and ran off the north side of the road before striking an embankment. His 2001 Dodge Dakota then rolled over and came to a complete stop on its driver’s side door in the middle of the roadway, blocking both lanes of traffic. Foster was not visibly injured and denied medical attention, but a preliminary breath test determined his blood alcohol content to be 0.19. A certified test showed his BAC to be 0.17. A hold was placed on Foster’s vehicle for proof of financial responsibility. Total damages were estimated to be between $5,000-10,000.
