Most hoops fans have probably heard of the 1983 North Carolina State mens basketball team’s improbable run to the NCAA championship.
“Survive and Advance” was kind of the motto for Coach Jim Valvano’s N.C. State squad.
Ironically, those aformentioned three words may also be the best way to describe the South Spencer girls basketball team’s post-season victory against Crawford County.
In a contest that stayed close throughout, the Lady Rebels scored the final seven points of the game to secure a hard fought 43-36 triumph over the Wolfpack in the opening round of the Class 2A, Sectional 48 Tournament last Wednesday night at Buechler Arena in Ferdinand.
