Ricky Lee Cooper, 57, of Hatfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh.

Ricky was born in Tell City, on September 29, 1965, to John R. Cooper, Jr. and Betty L. Carter.

Ricky was an Army veteran and a member of Rockport American Legion Post 254. He enjoyed spending time playing darts, going to the races, watching cooking shows, hunting, fishing, and going to the river to hang out with his beer drinking buddy, Tommy Mullens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Cooper, Jr., and Betty L. Carter; stepfather, Robert L. Carter; his grandparents; his brothers-in-law, Bo Collins and Elvis Wathen.

Ricky is survived by his daughter, Jordan (Mike) Driskell; his stepdaughters, Jessika Moore and Jackie Moore; his grandchildren, Korbin, Landon, Rihanna and Easton Driskell, and Kaden, Kobey, Gage and Timothy Adcock; his siblings, Doris Cooper of Richland, Karen Wathen of Newburgh, Carolyn Sue (David) Schwoeppe of Huntingburg, and Monica Lambert of Newburgh; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Steve Buse officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at James Parker Cemetery.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the 2 p.m. service on Saturday at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center and Gentiva Hospice for caring for Ricky the last several months. They would also like to thank his big sissy, Doris Cooper, for all her devotion in helping take care of him.
