Dennis Wayne Sims, 78, of Lamar, passed away on September 5, 2023 at Oakwood Health Campus.
He was born in Tell City on November 25, 1944 to Floyd and Goldie “Irene” Sims.
Dennis was a 1962 graduate of Cannelton High School. He was united in marriage at St. Paul Catholic Church on November 28, 1964 to Judith A. Rust, who survives.
Dennis had worked at the former Tell City Kroger until its closing, where he then transferred to the Campbellsville, KY store. He later retired from Spencer Industries in Dale. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his dogs, Rose and Henry.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Judy Sims, Lamar; daughter, Lynn Howe (Tim), Tell City; granddaughter, Ashley Howe and sisters, Nina Knight (Ron), Palmyra, VA and Donna Ronson, Kansas City, KS.
Preceding him death were his parents; a son, Mike Sims and a sister, Joyce Northenor.
Graveside services were private at Troy Cemetery.
