Burton M. “Burt” Ramsey, 90, of Chrisney, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.
Burt was born in Perry County on June 29, 1933, to Thomas and Elma (Burton) Ramsey.
Burt served in the United States Army. He worked and retired from the Spencer County Co-Op in Chrisney and later worked at Ken Shourds Equipment. He was a member of Rome Masonic Lodge No. 133. A member of Cornerstone Church in Chrisney, he was active with the Walk to Emmaus.
In addition to is parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eva Rose Miller.
Burt is survived by his wife of 63 ½ years, Bonnie Ramsey whom he married on April 10, 1960; sons, Steve Ramsey and his wife, Rhonda of Rockport and Kevin Ramsey and his wife, Chicaco of Hiroshima, Japan; granddaughters, Ariel Harper and her husband, Brandon and Cheyenne Kelsey and her husband, Colton; and great-granddaughter, Melody Ramsey.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, November 2, at Cornerstone Church in Chrisney. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chrisney. The American Legion will provide military honors. A masonic service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. Thursday, November 2, at Cornerstone Church in Chrisney.
Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church.
