William “Bill” Clay Small, 83, of Richland, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh.
Bill was born in Spencer County on June 1, 1940, to the late Charles A. and Mildred (Adams) Small.
Bill had served in the United States Navy and later the United States Army.
He was a member of Richland United Methodist Church and Richland Lions Club. He had also been a member of Richland Masonic Lodge 702 and had retired from Whirlpool after many years of service.
Bill enjoyed going to the Golden Corral in Evansville.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Karen Marie Small; and his siblings, Jean, Thelma and Benny.
Bill is survived by his wife, Linda “Carolyn” Small; his children, Patrick “Kent” Small and his wife, Lisa of Boonville and David L. Small of Boonville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, January 11, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastors Carl Jones and Matt Harmon officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville.
Visitation is from 4 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 10, with a masonic service at 7 p.m., and from 9 until 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
