The Spencer County Sheriff’s Department bid farewell to former Sheriff Kelli Reinke after 25 years of service last week. A ceremony in her honor was held Tuesday, April 23 in the rotunda of the Courthouse to recognize a quarter of a century with the department. Her last day on duty was Sunday, April 28.
Reinke joined the department on April 23, 1999 and served as sheriff from 2019 to 2023. Sheriff Sherri Heichelbech and the Spencer County Merit Board extended their appreciation for her service in a resolution recognizing her honorable retirement from active duty. “Kelli leaves behind a legacy of dedication and leadership that will be deeply missed,” said the Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post.
