Bonita (Rudisill) Sexton, 81, of Westfield, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Copper Trace Nursing Home in Westfield.
Bonita was born in Richland on February 9, 1943, to the late Henry and Wildon Emma (Nunn) Rudisill.
She had worked as a medical assistant for a heart doctor after obtaining her associates degree in 1990.
In addition to her parents, Bonita was preceded in death by her husband, J.V. Sexton, her brothers, Warren Rudisill, Wildon Rudisill, Chester Rudisill, Wayne Rudisill and Elson Rudisill, as well as the father of her children, Donald Downey.
She is survived by her daughter, Deva Raley (Ron); her son, Marty Downey (Sandy); her grandchildren, Jessica Raley, Baylee Schultz (Sam), and Carson Downey; her great-grandchildren, Colton Raley and Hendrix Schultz; her brother, Nelson Rudisill (Linda); and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by means of her blended Sexton family stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, January 18, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, with Pastor Tim Coomer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation is 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
