Mary Jean (Harris) Shourds, 88, of Chrisney, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at her home. She was born on July 10, 1936 in Midway, to the late Albert and Florence (Hartloff).
Mary was dedicated to her faith and her family. She enjoyed making ceramics, floral arrangements and jewelry as well as camping, gardening and cooking. Mary also loved raising her chickens and listening to bluegrass music. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge, the Women’s Baptist Association and Chrisney Baptist Church.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Robin Lampert (Jeff); her grandchildren, Joshua Hufnagel (Jodi), Kaci Messenger (Rob), Sephora Nickles (Tyler), Calli Threet, Armande Varela (Lalo), Katelyn Mehringer (Dakota), and Alli Kempf (Conner); great-grandchildren, Payton, Eli, Sydney, Dalyah, Aminy, Xandur, Myka, Cash, Xaqariah, Addi, Cohen, Jack and Bogart; great-great-grandchildren, Ty, Layla, Brody and Atticus; and sister, Patti Jo Kramer.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Junior Wangler and Karl “Poppy” Shourds as well as her parents.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, from 3 until 7 p.m. at Koehler Funeral Home in Boonville, as well as the following day from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 10 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Charlotte Jenkins. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery/Gwaltney Memorial Park in Midway.
