The 15th annual Tour of Tables was another standout success for The Way of Rockport, its supporters and its dedicated volunteers. Trinity United Methodist Church was filled with color as participating businesses and organizations filled the church’s Gideon Hall with 25 tables, each decorated with its own theme. Brett Cieslack, executive director for The Way, was pleased to report that this year’s event sold out as guests vied for tickets to attend each table and enjoy a meal among friends.
This year’s menu included chicken alfredo soup, salad, chicken parmesan, bread sticks, strawberries and cheese cake. Another draw for the evening was the silent auction, including a wide range of prizes.
The Tour of Tables is a major fundraising event for The Way of Rockport, and its efforts to help those affected by substance abuse. The Way is a faith-based, 12-Step drug and alcohol rehab for adults. They also offer crisis intervention, transitional housing for adult men, co-educational intensive outpatient programs (IOP), general outpatient programs (OP) and aftercare.
In 2024, The Way Home hosted 33 men over the course of 3,979 nights, and provided 11,937 meals. The 12-Step Recovery Support Group worked with 130 individuals, who collectively attended 1,352 meetings.
One relatively new addition to The Way’s services is the Matrix Intensive Outpatient and Alcohol Drug Treatment program. Thirteen clients began treatment last year, with nine graduating. Three more have graduated so far this year.
