Mathew William Gunn 38 passed away Friday, December 19, 2025 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville.
Mat was born July 21, 1987 to Tom and Chris (O’Risky) Gunn in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Mat was a 2006 graduate of South Spencer High School, and was an apprentice with the 103 Local Iron Workers in Evansville. In his spare time, you would find a fishing pole in Mat’s hand; he loved to fish, and shared that love with his son.
Mat is survived by his son, Sylas Gunn; his parents, Tom and Chris Gunn; sister, Melissa Jump; brother, Michael Gunn; granddad, Frederick Hughes; along with many other nieces, nephews, several cousins and extended family members.
Services for Mat will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 26, at Boultinghouse Funeral Home, 527 Main St. Rockport, IN 47635. Pastor Tim Coomer will officiate. Burial will take place at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Friday, December 26.
