Betty J. Nix, 86, of Rockport, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, at her home surrounded by family.
Betty was born in Newtonville, on December 2, 1935, to the late Alan and Antionette (Minnette) Weatherholt.
Betty had worked at G.E, Branchville Prison and had been a beautician. She loved sewing, gambling and being with her family.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Driskell and her husband, Kim and Alana Swanker and her husband, Jim; her grandchildren, Lori Page, Erika Driskell, Amee Hadley, William “Drew” Driskell, Jennifer Clutter, Leah Powers and Dustin Sarver; 18 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Roy Thomas Weatherholt and Paul Weatherholt; her sister, Diane Vaughn; and her very special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Nix, Jr., who passed away in 2021; her daughter, Phyllis (Nix) DeWeese, who passed away in 2013; her brothers, Bobby and Don Hurst, E.K., Jessie, Jimmy, Walter and Joe Weatherholt; and her sisters, Nina Foertsch and Linda Turner.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 17, at Grandview Cemetery in Grandview, with Mike Turner officiating.
